MEAGHAN CLARK
BSc

Orthotic Resident

Meaghan is a Resident Orthotist at VPO, currently completing her residency with the goal of becoming a Certified Orthotist by early 2026. She graduated with honors from the Clinical Orthotics and Prosthetics program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2024, after earning her Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician diploma with honours at George Brown College in 2022. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of Victoria. Passionate about enhancing patients’ mobility and quality of life through personalized orthotic care, Meaghan enjoys biking, practicing yoga, and paddleboarding outside of work.

KAREN CONROY
BSc

Karen graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland in 2021 with an Honours Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics. She gained valuable experience working in a busy, multidisciplinary clinic in Galway, Ireland, where she provided orthotic care for a wide range of complex patient needs. In August 2024, Karen relocated to Vancouver and joined Össur, gaining extensive experience in the assessment and management of knee conditions and advanced knee bracing. She is currently working towards obtaining her Canadian certification as an Orthotist. Highly interested in gait biomechanics, Karen is dedicated to understanding each patient’s individual needs and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and staying active through running.

RANDY KRAMER

Certified Prosthetist 
& Orthotist

Randy began his career in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 1991 in Richmond, BC, training under Robert Ford, CO(c), primarily creating devices for children. In 2002, he furthered his commitment by enrolling in the clinical P&O program at BCIT. After graduation, he worked under the guidance of Ben Speicher, CPO(c), who crafted Terry Fox’s prosthesis during his Marathon of Hope. Randy appreciates the hands-on aspect of his work and finds great fulfilment in improving people’s lives through his craft. At home, he indulges his love of metal and wood as an amateur guitar builder, welder, and hot rod enthusiast.

DEBORAH LO

Deb is a Certified Orthotist currently completing her prosthetics residency. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and completed her Prosthetics and Orthotics Technical Program at George Brown College, followed by a clinical program at BCIT, graduating with distinction. Deb has served on the board of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO). She is passionate about helping patients restore function and independence through personalized, collaborative care. On weekends, Deb enjoys exploring trails with her family, including her playful dog and two young daughters.

MICHAEL PRYSTAI

General Manager,
Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist

Michael is a certified prosthetist and orthotist who has been with VPO since 2012. His lifelong passion for fabrication and problem-solving led him to complete the P&O program at BCIT in 2012. He then completed his Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science in 2013. Michael provides a positive and empathetic approach to patient care and is passionate about helping patients find unique and innovative solutions that enable them to achieve their personal and professional goals. When not working, Michael enjoys coaching and watching his two boys participate in hockey, baseball, and lacrosse, as well as working on projects in his woodworking shop.

NIKKI SMITH

Certified Pedorthist

With over 25 years of experience in hospital and private clinic settings across three provinces, Nikki specializes in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. She values the blend of science and hands-on device design that the pedorthic field offers. Nikki holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and is a Certified Pedorthist and Pedorthist Technician in Canada. She is an active member of the College of Pedorthics and the Pedorthic Association of Canada. When not working, Nikki enjoys spending time with her family, reading, working on DIY projects, and cheering on the Seahawks.

TERRANCE CHUNG

Technician

While studying Kinesiology at UBC, Terrance was introduced to Prosthetics and Orthotics through a guest lecturer. Drawn by the combination of hands-on work and helping others, he began fabricating foot orthotics before pursuing formal training at George Brown College. He joined VPO in 2024 and is passionate about designing high-quality, aesthetically pleasing devices that make a real difference. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new food spots, hiking, or trying out new recipes.

EMMA KENNY

Technician

Emma is a prosthetic and orthotic technician who is passionate about combining creativity with care. After experiencing a knee injury and seeing firsthand the difference an orthosis made in her recovery, she was inspired to pursue a career in this field. Emma is continually learning and refining her technical skills, with a strong interest in the design and precision involved in creating custom devices. Outside of work, she has a passion for outdoor sports such as snowboarding and mountain biking—activities that inspire her commitment to helping others stay active and moving.

COREY O’CONNOR

Technician

Corey is a prosthetic technician who joined VPO in 2022. He specializes in creating custom prosthetic sockets, particularly those with deep personal significance. Outside of work, Corey enjoys live music, collecting records, traveling, and watching soccer.

RACHEL TIUS

Technician

Rachel is a dedicated Orthotic Technician who began her career after earning her diploma from George Brown College in 1985. She moved to British Columbia shortly after and worked at Shaughnessy Hospital’s Prosthetics and Orthotics Department. Fully registered by 1989, Rachel has contributed her expertise at various facilities over the years. She was a valued team member at Vancouver Prosthetics and Orthotics for the last seven years before retiring in December 2023. Though retired, Rachel still enjoys returning occasionally to share her passion and experience. Outside of work, she loves traveling, swimming, staying active, and pursuing creative hobbies like quilting and woodturning.

With over 25 years at Vancouver Prosthetics and Orthotics, Melani is the warm, welcoming face that ensures our office runs seamlessly. Known for her friendly smile and caring approach, she supports both our team and patients with dedication and heartfelt service. Fluent in English, Tagalog, Hokkien, and with some knowledge of Mandarin, Melani connects easily with a diverse range of clients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and cooking at home.

SANDY LOW

Clinical Care Specialist

Sandy has always been drawn to helping others and has 20 years of customer-service experience working closely with clients. The idea of combining hands-on care with technology to help people move more comfortably and confidently is what inspires her and led to her interest in the field of P&O. She is fluent in Cantonese. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and being a dedicated sports parent, from volunteering in the community and cheering from the sidelines. Family time keeps her grounded and is the reason she is passionate about helping others live active and fulfilling lives.
