FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERE AN ASSESSMENT FEE?

No. There is no cost for the initial assessment. Any costs related to a recommended prosthetic or orthotic device will be discussed before we proceed.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO SEE A CLINICIAN?

A referral is not required for an assessment.
However, a referral may be needed for insurance or funding purposes.

WHERE IS THE CLINIC?

We are located at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, 4255 Laurel Street. Our clinic is in the basement level of the hospital, with directional signs available from the elevators.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

Please call us at 604-558-8545 or email us at admingfs@vanpo.ca to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted at this time.

IS THERE PARKING?

Paid parking is available at the hospital entrance. Free two-hour street parking is also available in nearby residential areas.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON YOUR DEVICES?

There is a 3-month warranty on all new devices. Follow-up visits and adjustments are provided at no charge during this period.

CAN I BRING MY OLD DEVICE TO CHECK THE FIT OR TO REFURBISH?

Yes. We can assess the fit and function of your current device at no cost.
If repairs or refurbishment are needed, we will provide an estimate before proceeding.

WHICH INSURANCE PROVIDERS COVER PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOTIC DEVICES?

We work with all major insurance providers as well as government-funded programs.
Coverage will depend on your individual plan. We will assist you with funding options or apply for funding on your behalf.

WHAT IF I CANNOT PAY FOR MY DEVICE?

Our team will exhaust all funding options. A payment plan can also be arranged. Please discuss with your clinician for options.

HOW MUCH WILL MY DEVICE COST?

The cost of a device varies greatly based on what is recommended for your specific circumstances. The admin team will provide you with an estimate after your initial assessment.
